MRA Renegade Rifles, Parts, and Kits now available

I have shot maybe 100-200 rounds through mine flawlessly but today I took off the gas port seal and I see my gas port is completely clogged by what looks like copper jacket. It is very hard and I am not sure how to get it out of the gas port.

There's really no need to get it out.

Now I think what you're alluding to is a failure of all the locking lugs, thereby allowing the bolt to move rearward unintentionally upon being fired?
no, I am talking about unlocking upon firing. I believe is was Blaser that had this issue with some of the first rifles they produced as straight pull.

Now I don't know if it was an out of battery discharge problem or if it was actually the straight pull design unlocking upon firing.

I know the barrel extension and bolt is up to the task, I have fired many rounds in semi auto.

This is a 7.62x39 without issues.

I have another .30 caliber also without issues.

The 30ar has 80% more case capacity that 7.62x39, it is not even remotely equivalent stress being put on the assembly to know if it will unlock upon firing, which is my concern, not failure of the locking lugs or barrel extension

Source that these conversions have been done on this design and work without issue?

Very windy at the 100M range but the rifle functioned well with CFE BLK with 110 and 125 grn projectiles. The 4198 which was outstanding in my DI guns did not fair as well on the accuracy front. Usually the 4198 was a compressed load when loaded for the AR but I had reduced charges which may have contributed to the lower performance. Overall this will make for a great mid range deer rifle.

What are you seeing for velocity? What I can see online is 2-2200fps and much lower pressure than the 2800fps I get from factory premium ammo with a 125gr bullet in the 30ar

If you are looking for the best all out terminal performance on hogs and deer out to 300yds the 30 Herrett/HRA is it. They are pushing the CB 125gr MKZ to 2790 out of an 18" barrel with 29.4gr of SW blackout. 1680 and CFE BLK have similar performance, but 1680 is fast and preferably for 16" and under. That is 200fps faster than a 20" Grendel and 500fps faster than the Blackout. The 130gr MK319 SOST military bullets also work great in the 30 Herrett, 2600 from a 16" barrel.

I have tried two types of brass with the Remington large rifle primers flattened out a these pressures, however the hornady small rifle appear fine.

I simply don't have time for reloading. If I did I would likely push the 30ar well past the 2800fps the factory ammo produces in my 18.5" barrel

Yup the fde and black is mine...I love this rifle! It’s a tack driver and shoots smooth. And with scope is just over 7lbs so really light for pacing around.

I finally get to take it out tomorrow, I had IBI make a barrel to my contour, put in Timney so we will se how it shoots

Thought that I would share my Renegade build. It has one of the Sylvan Arms folding stock adapters Gen3 on it, no problems with fit and function other then my charging handle on the left side getting in the way.

Made it out to the range, rifle shot fantastic, was just breaking in barrel, so I took the rifle apart 3 times. First 15 shots were difficult to extract and after that is has been getting a lot better. Shot about 50 rounds through barrel, last 10 rounds were very easy to extract

The 30 RAR is one potent cartridge and because of it now being discontinued after a very short life the components will be very difficult to find.

A 150gn at 2600 from a stanag mag is outstanding.
