AR15 mods for MCR?

So I’ve poked around, and I’m trying to find out what AR15 parts I can add to my mcr. As far as I can tell the trigger is compatible, the pistol grip in non-breaver tail config is, and the buttstock is. What about things like the rail system/hand guard, is it possible?

Pistol grip without beaver tail, trigger, buttstock, hand guard (just make sure it fits the gas block profile, some rails are too slim) and barrel (always has to be carbine length gas system no matter the barrel length).

I really don't get why they opted for a carbine length gas system on a rifle length barrel, like nobody makes that.

I heard it was to increase reliability from what I remember watching a video about them explaining why they did it. Apparently with a longer piston, it can possibly flex more and jam/fail.

Will a drop in CMC triigger fit or will it need modification.

one piece units need mods, two piece seem to fit fine
