So a friend of mine that doesn't speak english at all is having issue having any kind of service from Walther about his cracked P22 slide, he contacted Walther and as been answered to ask Walther Germany since these guy are Walther USA and can't help him out. My question is, does anyone here have contact with a Canadian distributor/waranty service so he can get his pistol fixed, or is it pretty much his most expesive hammer?
Thanks for you help.

Sorry, a little off topic. Had a P22 years ago from new. Had it at a range day for all to try. After the last shooter, I cleared the gun as it did not lock back on the last round, or so I thought. Remember your safety training. Luckily pointed at a backstop, I removed the mag, racked it to clear and the gun fired. No one was hurt luckily. Turned out the cross pin in the slide had broken and locked the firing pin forward. As I racked to clear, the pin hit the rimfire .22 round firing it out of battery. Complaining to S&W, who at the time looked after warranty, I was mailed a new cross pin with no other info. Sold the gun right after.

The last time I bought or traded for a Walther or S&W warranty covered firearm. I know sometimes things break, but the lack of follow up for help, left me to think the danger to others was too high to take a chance.

Walther doesn't really stand behind the P22. You get 1 year warranty and that's it.
The slides cracking on P22's (as well as sig mosquitos) are insanely common.
Walther will only refer you to North Sylva to buy a replacement slide at around $200-$250 +tax and shipping (last time I priced it out).

Lesson to be learned? Buy a Ruger instead. ;)

Still cast aluminum slides? Or is it zinc? Not sure why guys are still buying these poor quality guns when you can find so much bad about them online.

Not doing their homework first, research the firearm first. Some people just buy and then suffer the consequences, such as in this case.......

How's the weather in DC? I have family just down the road from you in Chetwynd

The guy Walther sent another email to my buying stating that he would need to send the pitols in Ellwood Epps ONT. Gonna give them a call probably this week to make sure they can fix it and he wont send his pistol down there for no reasons. If this doesnt work i guess the only way out will be asking North Sylva for a new slide.
