CZ 457 heavy barrel: 16 or 24 in ?

For that distance, a 16" barrel would be fine. You could even push a 16" well past that if you wanted with great results. How the rifle handles and carries will be the main difference in a short to long tube.
 
the 16 inch looks near, points wheel and will work

it is more important to get the intervals right on,the barrel than this choice in overall barrel length
 
I had a 16 in barrel on an MTR , they are louder and just seem
too short didn't work for me .

Sold it and got another MTR with a 20.5 , much better .

The CZ 457 LRP has 16 or 24 correct ?

That is what is listed everywhere...16.5 or 24

How does your 20 in. MTR shoots ?
 
I just bought the 457 American which has a 24” barrel. To be honest it’s a bit overkill. Don’t get me wrong the gun looks and handles beautifully, but a 20” would have been spot on. There is nothing to gain from that 4” but inconvenient storage and increased bumps coming in and out of the safe. Not to mention a 24” heavy barrel will have a fair bit more weight. That’s 8” of bull barrel hanging out there for no gain.

Don’t get me wrong, if you dig the looks of the 24”, give er hell. I literally just bought one, but only because I love the American model significantly more than the Canadian aesthetically, but I wish it had a 20 inch barrel. Threads are nothing without pics.
