I would take a .223 over 22-250, Ive owned both and shot both quite abit.
-.223 can be shot and hits can be seen through the scope vs a 22-250 which usually has too much recoil
-.223 has plety of power to kill a coyote past 250 yards which is a long shot with a .22 cal, anything past this is greatly effected by wind drift. Not many guys shoot coyotes at 400 yards with any .22 cal
- brass is pretty much given away for a .223 due to it being a military round and bulk ammo is cheap
-.223 is a good fur round loaded w/ a good hollow point bullet
-known for its accuracy
-alot quieter to shoot then the 22-250
Both rounds are pretty much top sellers for varmint guns, some guys like the 250 some the .223, maybe try shooting both and see what you like. I know if I were looking for a new coyote gun Id be buying a .204
Cheers!!
