Looking for feed back on Fierce

I shot one last summer. Shot good but man was it heavy. The stock finish didn't look that great to me either for the money spent. I sure don't have any desire for one. The owner likes it though so that's all that matters.
 
Hawk-i, you got a kimber 280 AI, just stick with that and put your money into high end optics. :) Your kimbers are lighter than the Fierce or CA. If your gonna get another rifle, for that amount of money, have one built.
 
My hunting partner uses one for his all purpose rifle. 300 win mag, carbon fiber barrel. It is a super nice rifle and shoots excellent. I would own one but can’t swing that kind of money at the moment.
 
I would build one for sure, Buy an used Tikka T3x SS in 7mm or 300 mag as a donor and a Wildcat stock , or Buy an used Kimber Montana 8400 wsm donor and your barrel and your all in for about 3 grand or even a little less depending on cost of donor/barrel.

Ive had six 6.5 PRCs built, 2 on Defiance XM medium actions, three on Kimber Montana 8400s 2 with CF barrels and one with a #1 Benchmark, one on a Sako A7 SS 7mm donor.

One Kimber has a 22 inch Hells Canyon Armoury barrel with a brake and it’s crazy accurate with factory Hornady 143gr ELDX ammo, awesome cartridge.
 
I have had many McMillan stocks, but the $1000+ and a year wait would have me looking hard at Wildcat. Use your T3 action and a barrel of your choice.

Another option is the Xbolt Pro with the carbon fibre stock at $2400.
 
Mag length on the Fierce 6.5 PRC is 3.750, no problem loading 156 EOL to the lands and still running through the mag.

I appreciate all the input on this topic....a custom build is a possibility, do the smiths put any accuracy guarantee on their work?

Long range only has a very favourable thread on the Fierce 6.5PRC Carbon Fury...:)

Yes, what you say is true...but I get more excited at the idea of another new rifle and I'd like to go Carbon barrel on this one...:)

You're probably right I don't Need a Carbon Barrel, but I got it stuck in my mind that is what I want.

Question, does the Wildcat Tikka stock accommodate a Carbon barrel diameter or is it limited to sporter contour?

Any custom stock maker will accommodate a custom barrel contour, either at the manufacturer or upon assembly at your gunsmith. Within reason.

I have wanted to build a carbon barrelled rifle too, but they have a disproportionate amount of accuracy issues compared to an all steel barrel. At twice the cost.
 
I don't have a Fierce so cannot help with feedback but I do know that once one plants a seed in their mind that, "this is what they want", they either put it off temporarily and end up buying eventually, so why not bypass the delay and buy and satisfy your curiosity and give the feed back to others.....:)> This from a confirmed gunnut. ME...! LOL

I did have accuracy issues with my 1st Carbon barrel on my Traverse, the replacement warranty barrel is awesome and groups stay tight as the barrel gets hotter.

This is a good reason why having the guarantee is important, the fierce warranty is lifetime and transferrable ..if the stock cracks, covered...if the extractor breaks, covered...firing pin covered, trigger covered...etc :)
 
But, from what I gather a lot of the complaints seem to be about the customer service issues. In addition to quality control.
Maybe those have been addressed?
 
I have a Fierce Ti in a 300 wsm for a number of years now.

The stock developed a crack at the rear action screw and Fierce replaced it at no cost. I had the stock bedded after the new one arrived. Highly recommended.

I replaced the magazine latch that came from factory to the one from Sako, no chance of an accidental release and losing a magazine.

Magazine holds 4 rounds but having that 4th round tends to jam. I only put 3 rounds in the magazine and no more jamming issues.

This rifle definitely shoots and holds up the the reputation of a Fierce.

No regrets here

They were working on one the last time I was there. But even if it’s not finished yet, you can alter the standard version with a little elbow grease, and a shoehorn. If you aren’t planning to do the install yourself, have wildcat do it.
 
I have a carbon fury in 6.5 PRC. It’s a very nice rifle. Comes as advertised. No problem getting to shoot half moa. I have found they shoot most ammo well but some better than others. Handloads all grouped well again though some better than others. But it’s definitely as advertised. Talk to Omer at precision optics he’s is very knowledgeable and great to talk to. Has lots in stock
 
I see a lot of comments from those that don’t own a Fierce so take all their comments with a grain salt.
I have a Fierce CT EDGE in 6.5 PRC fit and Finnish is perfect. No issues getting .5” groups. 156 Berger’s at 3000 FPS is a nice load for my
Rifle.
