In the manual for the tumbler I have (Frankford) it says not to use any liquids in it...

I would like to add polish t the media to give the cases more shine. Is there any dry polish I can use? (never used any before dry or 'wet':runaway:)

You can add some of the cream polish (car wax, Flitz, etc...) to your media without problems. Some case polisher have a different design and actually use a liquid solution to polish the brass, that's what Frankford is refering to.

Brass doesn't need to be shined. Just clean. Car wax is the last thing you want to use. Leaves a film on the brass.

Sunray is 100 % right. I use Dillon rapid polish 290. I have tried almost any recipe that can be found on the web. Some work great also, but using Dillon is a no brainer.
With really dirty brass, let run your tumbler a bit longer..2-4 hours...I like mine shiny :)

I use LYMAN walnut (rouge) media and it makes the brass really shine. It is the best media I have ever used. The worst media (Hornady media that comes with M2 Tumbler).

I believe they mean Liquid case cleaners like RCBS Liquid Case cleaner. Adding a polish to your dry media is fine. I would have to say the reason for that is that the brass inlet at the bottom of the bowl may not be water tight.

I would have concerns with some of the abrasives listed as I wouldn't want them scratching/wearing the smooth insides of my dies. Clean crushed walnut shells work good for me and have been using them since i had to crush my own in the 60s.

I add a small amount of "rouge" (bought in bulk at a rock shop). Also add a cap full of Iosso brass cleaner. The combination, along with crushed walnut shells (bought from a sand blasting suppy house for far less than at a gun shop) and an RCBS Sidewinder tumbler works wonders.
