I have recently bought the bore scope that Ganderite posted about. Works like a charm!

I just ordered the Teslong wireless bore scope from Teslong site. More money, but works on iPhone and iPad. I see use for this at gunshows and when I go to buy guns from a private seller.

Some on here ridiculed me when I bought a couple of the little digital microscopes. They work well enough for me to be able to identify stamps on some of my old milsurps that were otherwise indiscernible to the naked eye or a magnifying glass. They are worth having for a guy like me.

Has anyone else been able to use one of the wireless scopes?

DHL dropped my package at the door this morning. I took it to the shop and hooked it to my iPhone. Works like a charm! This one also works with a PC. A bonus! It came with three little mirrors to screw on to the end. It also included all cables, instructions and a nice little zipper case, well padded.

Now I have one for the shop and one for my gun room at home. Life is good. :p

One old trick I use for those hard to read, scrubbed stamps, is to sprinkle a bit of iron filings onto area and use a magnet on each side of the area. Usually works very well.

bear hunter: Sounds close to the magnafluxing we used to have done on parts when I had my tractor salvage yard.

Link? Sounds useful!

Just google the Teslong site. I don’t have the scope at the house, but I am reasonably sure it works with a PC. The site says it doesn’t, but I seem to recall in the instructions that came with this one that it does. I’ll check tomorrow and let you know for sure.

As one fellow posted previous, it is scary when you see what a bore actually looks like. Most of the rifles in my pile are old milsurps. Need I say more?

That's exactly what it is kjohn. I used to do a lot of non destructive testing on machines and overhead monorail tracks that ran heavy cargo bins with a couple of tons of sand/glass mix. There was a lot of vibration in these units and even the tiniest cracks, dents, scratches would be marked by the filings when the electromagnet was applied.

One thing led to another and I tried it on a couple of scrubbed No4 and No1 receivers. Once something has been stamped into steel, the surface impression can be removed but the impression is compressed into the molecular structure deeper than most people realize.

I picked one up a few months ago, from Amazon.

Just type in Endoscope in the search box.

My cell phone is very old and it's all that I need, but it won't accept the apps for the units designed to use cell phone screens.

So I ordered a model that had a small enough probe/camera to just fit into a 22 bore. (hopefully)

It's called a VASTAR and has its own controller with a proprietary screen. Sharp, HD pics and very bright.

$80 shipped and arrived in less than a week.

I drank the Kool Aide for the rigid & flexible Teslong android scopes & their caliber specific mirror kit.

The only simple issue w/ the Teslong's to date is seeing thru an AR Bbl gas hole into/thru the gas block gas hole for perfect alignment w/o glare &/or shadows.

Neither will compete w/ my Gradient Lens Adj Focus Bore Scope & 90deg adjustable focus eye piece.
