What happened to antique buy and sell

i think you two hit the nail on the head, the title was a mouthful and too many guns being miss-categorized.
 
So, if that’s is the case, wonder if they will create a separate exchange for antiques. Or, with antique handguns for example, will they now go in the regular Pistols and Revolvers exchange?

Matt74 I agree with your concern; although I would imagine "blackpowder" would cover off most of the antique handguns (regardless of chambering or loads) since they are mainly blackpowder-era. But it wouldn't catch all of 'em. And it certainly wouldn't capture many of the late 1890s through 1930's rifles and shotguns that are often out of place in the other forums (a Stevens 44&1/2 or a Winchester 1886 would not be sitting in the right market if it's listed in the Hunting & Sporting Rifles Exchange).
 
'Antique, Classic & Collector guns'.
I think we need something of them like, the problem with this title though is that everyone thinks their gun is a “classic” or is collectible:) I’ve seen lots of ads for classics, collectible, vintage, rare, etc, and the clearly never fell in any of those categories. Lol.

The biggest problem is that many people don’t have a clue what an antique actually is. Not long ago some guy was asking questions in the antique forum about a 1960s mag fed .22. That’s not an antique, that’s just old.

"Antique and Vintage" perhaps with guidelines (1949 & older - captures "vintage" and "antique") ? Just spitballin'
 
No big deal if an item is placed in the wrong forum; its more a matter of trying to place it where the most interested people lurk. The gunshow rats, the lifelong gun guys, the hobbyists, the accumulators, etc. :)
1949, 1964......doesn't matter to me; if its made of metal & wood and is 'about' the same age or older than the owner then its ok with me.

Yes - the Sako I bought last year is both "Classic" and Collector" and will some day be an "Antique".
