Educate me on chainsaws!

Husky or Stihl. But once, cry once. Professional series saws are the only way to go. Everything else is asking for problems.

Personally I run a husky 365. Haven't had any problems. Change your plugs every now and then and run premium fuel with a synthetic oil like Amzoil.

The two main causes of this are oil draining off the bar after use or pressure in the oil tank forcing oil out through the oiler, which usually means the tank vent isn’t venting properly.

Thx much. Silly question - are you referring to the Chain Oil Tank vent? If yes - where is that vent located and what is required to have it 'breathing' again...!

Cheers!

I'll have to take a look at it one day, its never really been enough of a problem that I wanted to look into too deep.

Those 365's are a good saw, they're about the right size, not too big. I used them lots at the mill I worked at. Stihls are also good.

Yes the chain oil tank vent. It depends on the saw as to how the vent is set up, but many are a hole with a split pin in it, tucked in below the muffler. Either way, it is not letting enough air in and out, likely crud blocking it.

I've got MS 170 for camping
an 032 because it just won't quit and
MS362C-M to work all day long every day...:)

I want something that will cut 2ft diameter trees all day in the winter. Is there a model that is the ultimate fighting champion of chainsaws?

I run a 372XP with a 28 inch bar...........drops anything in the forest!!! Bought the saw new in 2004, changed the plug once, unbelievable saw

You guys and your orange thing.
Poulin Wild Thang! Now we're tossing chips!...lol
I'm a Husky guy but my Sthil works ok too. I just have to tape up the vents in winter, it hates cold weather.

Occasionally, the old style o-ring/cap gasket, gets over compressed and leaks. I chased a leak on my 034 Boss and most recently my old pride and joy 2.5 cu. in.010. new caps did the trick.

You want a vibrating saw get one of those old Mini-mac 110's. But don't try eating peas with a fork after, ain't gonna happen.

I bought a "winter kit" for my Husky. Used it once I think

The 365’s are good saws, couple of my coworkers run them. Nice balance between power and weight, can run good length bars and has full wrap heated handles. Good for falling, spacing and bucking work and lighter than the 372.

Carbed saws are best where I live. My favourite saw is the 262XP. Followed by the 162se and a Stihl 044. If I were buying new to cut big trees I would go for the Husqvarna 365 or 372xp. If I had to buy an auto tune it would be the 562xp.
