For something a little different, try what I've taken up, archery. I have no intention of ever giving up my shotguns, rifles or handguns but archery, is a blast. A whole new ball game, especially if you hunt. Although I haven't done it much, but the 3D shoots are something else.

OOOooohhh, now cannons sound like fun. Wonder if I know anyone has a lathe....Wonder if the range would let me shoot one there. Anyone got a source. 50cal might be a lot of fun.
