SKS Insane prices

Collector grade SKS rifles have a lot of remaining upside. I sold my best 1949r a couple years ago for $800 if memory serves, and I will no doubt kick myself repeatedly for it in the future.
Everything is going up at an alarming rate. A $400k house 10 years ago is pushing past a million now.

Not as insane as the horde of 81's on EE... People are dumping them for the junk that they are at prices triple the cost of a decent SKS

My little investment could pay off one day
1950r Russian laminate stock - all matching numbers (has a 1 on the front sight) oh baby

The factory didn't issue laminate stocks until late '55. Anything dated earlier is a refurb stock that has the rifle serial # matched to it. Alot of people aren't aware of that.

selling for a 70% profit isnt dumping.

True, but based on the number for sale on EE and ####### I don't think they are selling.

I think a lot of people jumped in thinking they would be the last imported, and could be re-sold.

Then it turned they wern't the last and that for $300 you could get a lighter rifle that achieves the same accuracy.

8 or 10 years ago , you could buy a brand new , chinese military , unrefurbed , unisued , SKS on here , from one of our site sponsers for $75 , if you bought a case of ammo at the same time , (2 span cans / 1440 rounds ) for regular price.
Alot of people thought that was too much . They said the ammo price was jacked up , and it was a bad deal. It came in at under $500 for everything , including tax & shippimg.
Those prices don't seem too bad now , do they !

A nice enfield will be over 1000, a garand will be over 2000, the SVT40 is pushing 1000, a matching sks is still a bargain under $500. The only people complaining are the ones who don't have one yet.

Also I was told that the original laminate stocks have a tab on the top of the buttplate same as the hardwood stock. The replacement laminate stocks have a flush butt plate with no tab.

Someone posted a pic of a 6-8' glass cabinet full of only SKS's.
Might of had a military or other diploma on the wall next to it.
Had to be like 30+ SKS's in the cabinet!!!
Wish I could find it again...
Beautiful Pic

Oh yes I remember this picture, it was gorgeous !!
