Just waiting on the Temp ATT to give it a loving home.:D

sp2022large.jpg

I bought it based on "impulse". That means I read the reviews on the internet, checked the prices at a few gun shops in the area, and purchased it from the shop that was selling it for the lowest price.

"Impulse" means I didn't come to you, my fellow Nutz, and ask your opinion first. I guess it's never too late.:)

So, who has one? Who had one? What did you like about it? What (if anything) didn't you like about it? Is there anything I should be made aware of? Any little quirks that may show up and haunt me at the range? What should I be preparred for?

Do they have feeding problems? How often do springs and things need replacing? What is their durability like? How about warranty? Is it easy to get work done?

Just a few questions I asked to fellow shooters before I bought the pistol, and now I'd love to hear your opinions on this.

Sig forum has very good comment about this gun, I was asked the same question a little while back. I however has to let it go becasue my hand is too small for this gun.

Which caliber did you choose and is it bigger than a P226?

I got it in .40 S&W. it's actually smaller than a P226, but really not by much. I logged on to the SigSauer site and found the owners manuals for both. They have the exact specs for the two and the 2022 was smaller by fractions of inchs here and there. I can't wait for the ATT so I can take it out and give it a run for it's $$.

Should Pistols be "broken in" like long guns???

If it's really close to the 226 and you don't have a holster yet I would recommend the Blackhawk Serpa. I have them for my 226 and my Kimber and they are great. My 226 shot perfect out of the box and I've put 2K through it since May-07 without incident.

WOW, lots of great feedback here. Thanks.

2K rounds and not a hiccup? sounds like I make the right choice.

Holsters? Hmmmm I'm not 100% sure what discipline I'm going to shoot with this pistol. I've been told IDPA is fun. Anyone have any experience there? Is this a good pistol for that? if so, do those holster recommendations still apply? I know some of these disciplines have specific rules.

Well, like Griffoneur suggested, I'm off to buy a case of .40 and wait impatiently by the phone for the call from the store that tells me I can pick her up!

It's a great shooter. Mine works flawlessly and looks great, but until I get a job, I probably won't be using it much... :(

Not all the Sig are good brother. Look at the Mosqitio, it is a sick gun.

I like my skeeter, do you personally own one??? Don't give it a bad rap unless it's warranted please.

re: sp2022

I wasn't overly impressed with the fit and finish. The mag wiggled excessively in the grip, overall the size was a hair smaller than the p220/6 as I could almost actuate the mag release with my firing hand thumb (a must for me), the price is good. If you want .40 sig I would choose the 229 hands down. It is a little smaller than the sp2022 and it fit my hands very well (one of the most important criteria IMO). Sadly I really want the .45acp cartridge. I just see the p250 is around. Great, I almost convinced myself that the .40SW in p229 would be what I need, now I see this... a .45acp in a compact frame! in SIG... arghhh now I'll have to handle on of these as well...
