How are the Huglu SxS's ?

You bet, in both single and double triggers. Also, we have almost 500 more coming next couple of weeks.

Hi Clay and the boys:

Does Huglu have any plastic stocked waterfowl or even upland side by sides? Something to break up the monotony during combining season. I know...use a pump or semi auto...but what the heck...get a little kinky and go with a side by side.;);)

Thanks.

there isn't a ton of decent quality guns in sxs in that price range, unlike O/U.

Exactly. It's either it's a cheap ugly gun like a Stoeger, a heavily used old side by side with fixed chokes, or minimum for a Beretta 486 is $7000. You're the only ones with a selection of new side by sides that look nice, feel nice, and in a price range not many new side by sides are in. Did I mention selection?

It has been a good market for us and lots of guys that want a nice SxS are getting them without paying 5k+.

Going into the 4th season with my Huglu. I’ve always liked SxS but like others, I didn’t want an older guy with fixed chokes, plus huglu accepts mobile chokes which I have lots from benelli sbe1s we have.

It quickly became my #1 gunning shotgun. The benellis and 3-4 others have all been safe queens after shouldering. It’s been through every environment west coast has to offer, even salt water hunts. I really did want a fancy wood on it but I took it apart this past summer and really made it my dream SxS with some darker stain and an orange pad.

I shoot way less shells then with an auto, and kill just as much birds hahaha.

I have had my huglu hrz hammer gun for 3 seasons now and I'll have to agree with the others, its definitely heavy for caliber as it's almost 8lbs and the triggers definitely suck, one of mine is 10lbs and the other let's off at 11lbs. That being said I strictly use this gun for waterfowl (I have other brands for upland) so the weight is a good thing. Also it is one of the only hammer guns that I know of that take 3 inch steel and have removable chokes, and no I dont want to pay for bismuth for all my other sxs's. I know there is also the pedersoli bohemian in the same category as the hrz but at twice the price and if I'm going to beat it up in a boat I'll live with the heavy triggers for now. Otherwise the gun has held up well, I did refinish the stock tho in blo and the wood really came out looking much nicer. In short for their price I think they are good value for what they are
