Has anyone tried installing this new scope mount on CZ858??

I was shown one of these and after looking closely at my CZ, I'm having serious difficulty pulling the rear site off to try to make use of the pivot hole at the front of the site. This particular rail makes use of it.
If anyone has any input on how I can remove it, I'd appreciate it.

i have a scout mount on my CZ858 and i love it.

if i recall i had to push down on the rear sight ladder and slide it backward.

when it comes to cleaning i dont remove the rails but the rails are in the way of removing the top HG so i did a quick mod to the back of the top HG, it works great.....see thread below, pics are slow this morning.

ps. marstar has it for $99

From what I could see, the rear site has the two teeth sticking out that go into the two holes on each side. For those of you that have gotten the rear site off, there must be a channel slot on both sides coming back from those two holes on each side so that it does slide out but I'll be damned if I can get it to slide back. If someone has pics of what it looks like when it's off, that would help out a lot.

Just did mine tonight. You push down on the little button (front most part of spring), and just pull the sight backwards. It took about 10 seconds. Looks great and feels solid.
Now I'm going to order one for my SKS.
KB.

Just follow the instructions and put a bit of muscle in to it. I kinda had to hump my rifle to get the leaf down enough to slide it back & out.

there is a small divot on the leaf spring for rear sight in the slot at front of sight push down on the spring with an awl and then the sight leaf slides out the back

I'm still having a hell of a time trying to get this site off. It's just rediculous how hard I pushed on it while prying and wiggling the rear sight. I can get the site down and away from the holes but it just won't move further back. Is there any way of getting to the spring from underneath?

How to remove the child-proof sight on a 858...

Tool needed - one awl (the screw driver thingy that looks like an ice pick).

Hold rifle on lap, sight on top of course. Place pointed end of awl (very important which end you use here:D) in small hole at front of sight, try press on the spring that is visable in the rear half of the small hole. While pressing down on the spring through the hole as hard as you possibly can (you can also put more weight on it by pushing down with your chin - see why its important which end is up?), pull the sight towards the rear of the rifle with your other hand. Should slide right out.

hold rifle on lap and push down with an awl as hard as he can (even using his chin if he has to) so he can slip up and ice pick his testicles in to oblivion?

I hope u were joking cause if you weren't that's really fing stupid

Thanks for the ohhh so helpful advice. If I can't get this damn thing off, I'm going to cut it off. What I have planned for this anchoring point will change the way we view the CZ. I'll have pics as soon as it's completed.

i recall taking 5 min to remove the rear sight ladder, i may have used a tool , cant remember ..... i cant check it now cos its covered up by the mount and i aint touching that.

if he had the ability to get his chin that close to his testicles to create such a danger in the first place ,i doubt he'd be able to find time to post on this board.

:adult:

maybe his leg or knee on the other hand...

Ok, guess I thought that everyone here had enough common sense and all not to stick an awl through some important body parts but plumb forgot that there are those out there that need to be told to not pull the trigger of a loaded gun while looking down the barrel:rolleyes:... I guess we'll all be able to spot the ones who followed my directions at the range quite easily - maybe I should edit my post and add: "And lastly, after driving the awl through your nuts because I didn't tell you not to, please go to the hospital to have the awl removed."

i tried reading the instruction but they used a SKS as an example , however it does suggest using a vise to hold the rifle rather than your lap.

but basically its what edon said .... minus the chin thingy, :D

Okay, I just got the rear sight off.
1) Prop rifle on big soft pillow so it does not slide around
2) Mount the rife (Yeagh, kinda like your humpin it.)with Barrel between legs.
3) Insert awl in small hole at front
4) Apply pressure down and leverage the awl slightly back while pulling/wiggling sight
(I found that when inserting the awl the rear site raises. The rear sight must be pushed down for
it to slide out)
5) BA BING!

I guess I will have to order one of those sights now because I have no idea how to get it back on. Oh yeah! My Testies are puncture free :p
