What is going on with lack of stock?

I have wasted a fair amount of time trying to find products and am surprised (maybe I shouldn't be) at the lack of availability.

For example:

  1. 590A1 with 18.5" or shorter barrel
  2. Mesa Tactical Urbino stock for 870
  3. Magpul stock for 870 or Mossberg 590

Is this a recent phenomenon?

Not sure where you’ve been, but 2020 has been quite the year. First Kobe Bryant died, then we were all introduced to the Tiger King... Global Pandemic hit... Massive riots and protests in the states... Long story short, s*** hit the fan. Supply chains are cracked. And it isn’t going back to normal anytime soon.

Who the heck is the Tiger King?

I've always judged the situation by ammo availability - and there seems to be plenty of ammo available.

Americans went on a spree before the election, like they did when Obama got in. I have been to a number of stores, and they have been saying they can’t get ammo, guns or primers. I was at the Bass Pro and their ammo shelves were pretty bare.

Ugh... So I looked up Tiger King. I thought it might be something like the Lion King. It's not like that. It's not like that at all.

Just seem surprised that we have plenty of handguns, ammo, powder etc., but are low on these shotguns and accessories.

Doesnt this go all the way back to Harambe??

People are scared by government overreach. Even the liberals, especially the weak ones(not always females) want them and their partners to have protection. They spent big on short handy guns. If you go bankrupt, you can keep your short shotgun. Also, many people have made a lot more $$ off CERB than their former jobs.

With all the race stuff going on in the states, people were buying guns like mad, a lot of the lefties suddenly got scared

Because even the Marxists/Maoists have been stocking up

Everything has seen a hike, and much of the available inventory was likely already in-warehouse. Probably be 6 to 12 months before we start catching up.

Man, the 3 things listed are usually backordered. I can't imagine why they'd have changed for the better this year.

Sure seems that way. Some Benelli's left out there. The 14" version has seen a big price hike though...

I got lucky grabbing mine for under $700. Usually see them for upwards of $1k in varying forms.

Yeah, the 14.5" version is on a bunch of sites for $700-$750, but sold out. Elsewhere, in stock for $1050-$1100. Odd when the 18.5" versions are still the same price as they were before - $600-$700.

Apparently it started when the US thought there was a possibility of the virus spreading, and it looks like it has spread. They're pretty much being over run by it and it'll be another four years before there's a chance to wipe it out and life can return to normal. In the meantime guns will become more and more expensive, elusive and in demand. A democrat majority is a terrifying thing for a society to have to suffer.
