Only One Handgun

A Ruger GP-100 with a 4.2" barrel in 38spl/,357Mag. Save the cases and get into reloading. With 100 or so cases you will be set for a very long time.

Failing the Ruger try an older S&W Model 10 with a 5" barrel in 38spl.

Either will last you a life time of shooting.

Take Care

If you could only have one handgun for everything that you use a handgun for, which one would it be? (No sci-fi stuff lol)

Depends on the environment I would be in at the time... If the apocalypse on the go I would get e Glock 17. If all is good and most I do is target shooting then I would get 1911 in .45ACP

1. Colt 45 Gold Cup Trophy. Had one, sold it, big mistake.

2. FS92 9mil Stainless. Got one, keeping it, no regrets.

I’m almost embarrassed to say, but I currently only do have one handgun. A CZ-97. I’ve had upwards of 10 or more at a time but last year after not shooting them for a long time due to precision shooting, I decided to get rid of everything to focus my hobby money on a new rifle. I sold progressive presses and everything.
When I regretted selling them all, I bought my previous favourite to start my collection again. Then came a new press. I may have a problem...

Assuming "everything you can use a handgun for" means the actual practical applications and not our limited legally permitted purposes in Canada, I would probably opt for a revolver or auto-loader in 10mm auto. I'm thinking a Glock 20 or 40 with MOS. 10mm is really expensive to buy but I would invest the money I would spend on other pistols on reloading equipment and start rolling my own. I think 10mm is a very versatile cartridge one could use for target practice, plinking, hunting and personal protection. Of course felt recoil is rather stout compared to the 9mm I'm used to so lots of practice time on the range would be in order to be effective.

Only one.....pretty depressing since I enjoy cowboy action, 3gun, bullseye and IDPA.
I suppose if I got out of all action shooting I would still need my Sunday morning plinker.

My Ruger Mark III 22/45, it pretty much goes in my range bag the most. Its a bit of a custom one I put together. 4.2” slab side with a frame I swapped so it has removable panels.

Ruger single action gets my vote.. as in 41 or 44 blackhawks and vaquero's. For farm & ranch, backcountry and unlimited outdoor-use, either-one under such permit would equate to happily ever after far as I'm concerned

Rabbits, Rats, bulls, bears or whitetail, 'good sixgun like that would look after it all
