Well Monday November 30th was the last day for general whitetail in our area. It was just above zero degrees and a good morning for the final sit on stand.
Normally the coyote’s have been following the deer trails but that morning, from my right hand side and out of the thick aspens this coyote pops out not 30 yards from where I was on watch. We both looked at one another and then he took off running down the deer trail. By this time I had raised my rifle and for some reason, less than 65 yards away he stopped and turned to look at me.......for the last time.
Good size male, nice thick fur. Healthy. Taken with my Sako Finnfire in .17 HMR. Neck shot dropped him.
