So whats the advantage/disadvantage to using the glock mags in a Ruger PC9.

Why would I want to to use Glock mags instead of Ruger mags?

Oh ya, what model Glock mags fit the PC9?

Ruger mags are nearly twice the price of Glock OEM, 3x the price of Magpul and last I looked pretty hard to find unless you want the longer SR9 mags. I haven't noticed any difference in reliability myself.

Ruger mags are bloody expensive, and in some cases you can pick up three Magpul G26 magazines for the price of one ruger mag. Thats the route I went, and the short mags don't stick out too far from the magwell.

If you don't have a SR9, use Glock mags. If you do have a SR9, put a WTB ad in the EE for the short PC9 mags. You can get them for $30-$40. Then 3D print some extended base plates so you can use them in the SR9.

In some cases, Ruger mags do not drop free, and when they do, it requires a good press on the mag release
Glock mags drop free with a slight tap

Ruger is great, but for their mags.

Particularly on the Mini 14.

Making PC compatible with the Glock and the Ranch 223 with AR mags were really good moves.

Hopefully that trend continues.

Hell, even the 10/22 gets aftermarket mag well makeovers due to the drama surrounding the 10/22 mag capacity.

For Glock magazines, the double stack sized glock magazines are compatible with the Ruger PC carbine. That is the G17, G19 and G26 type magazines. Magpul branded PMAG glock magazines are very popular as they are cheaper than official glock magazines and still work very well.

Glock 48/43 single stack magazines will not fit as they are narrower.

looking online i see two magpul 9mm magazines

one for the G19 and one for G17/19X

One is a bit cheaper (both are out of stock)

will they both work in PCC9 and is there any significant difference id want to be aware of?

check out the ets g26 mags (northern republic sells them). cheap, light, transparent, and sit relatively flush with the magwell (a true 10-round, not a 12/10).

Both will work fine, only difference is the length of the mag,the g19 mags are shorter length overall
