Newest Kalashnikov: could it be NR?

kalashnikov's newest civilian-market akv-521 is a new split-receiver design and looks different enough from the ak platform to be considered a different design, it looks a lot like the m+m10x. Could this possibly pass the test as a non-ak variant?

hahahahaha!

This! Zero justification at all. Banned for LOOKING like an AK...

North

Sad but true. Even if Kalashnikov comes out with a civilian semi-auto only rifle that has NO parts interchangeability with the AK-47/AKM, and conforms to all of the conditions of a non-restricted firearm in Canada according to the firearms act, it will still be prohib by default. Because reasons.

Nr. One company will import and charge 3-4x the price... then back ordered indefinitely... followed by the EE charging 8-10x the price...

You know... the way it goes...

Yes that is very much how it works, but then how did the M10X get approved? I mean, look at it.

Yeah that is very likely, this market is worse than the gaming graphics card market

People seem to have forgotten about the sanction against Russian defence companies.

This is purely for academic purpose, we won't see anything until Russia gets out of Ukraine, which means never.

But back to topic, if they are redoing the top, why are they still using the AK lower, which is unergonomic other than the fact that their factory is churning out these things by tens of thousands a year. As said earlier, they are still in the 70's with this.

At least the AM-17 is something closer to 2005.
