Stock question on a Tikka T3 lite camp stainless short action.

I have a Tikka T3 lite camo stainless in 7-08 and I really like the rifle but I'm not so big on the stock. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a hunting style stock upgrade that won't cost as much as a new rifle? Available in Canada would be a real bonus too. I'm in Alberta.

Both of my main rifles are Tikka's and both sit in B&C stocks. They fit me well and are good value for the money. The downsides are that they are a touch heavy and that the wrists are a little thick. But if you're not looking for an ultralight then they are a good choice.
 
once you upgrade your stock you may find yourself putting the old one back on - i like my tikka's the way they came from the factory - also my Savage Mark II and 93r17 shot well with the factory stock - maybe it's just me - keeping things as original as possible.
 
I like the Tikka Forester stock, you may find a take off on the EE, I think they weigh about the same as a synthetic but they have a raised cheek piece that I like
 
I've gone full circle and now prefer the factory stocks. They fit me well, are durable, lightweight and I am ok with 'just' MOA. If you really want a nice fitting stock and want to be different, look around for a take-off T3 Sporter stock.

if there was something wrong with the factory stocks they would only be selling the barreled actions - no need to spend money where it can be spent more wisely
 
I find the factory stock serves me well, but I understand the desire for something better as well. I got a Tikka factory take off laminate last year for one of my Tikka rifles and I really like it, would love to find another if I could. My son is a lefty and he has a Tikka with the synthetic stock as well and he is looking for a factory take off in walnut, or possibly a Boyd's. I also have a McMillan for Tikka PR rifle and it is fantastic, but like the OP said, I could have bought another rifle with what I spent on that stock, however I think that a McMillan could be had for a little less if you didn't go crazy with adding all the accessories.
 
They factory stocks do work fine, but they are pretty cheapo feeling on a rather decent rifle. It would be nice if they upgraded it a bit to something a bit stiffer. The price justifies a decent synthetic stock as a factory option, shouldn't have to look for aftermarket.
