thanks

Good day.

I am going to start reloading 22 savage high power, and have had a tough time finding load data. I have found some loads listed and would like advice on bullet substitution. Specifically, the recipes I have found are for gas checked cast bullets. The only bullets that I can find are jacketed of the same grain size. As a relative noob at reloading, is it possible to substitute a jacketed bullet for a cast bullet and use the same powder load, or should I modify it, or just avoid it altogether. Thanks for any input you may have to offer.

What's the load data you found? Some published low velocity cast bullet data is low velocity/pressure and there is a risk that using it with jacketed bullets might end up with a bullet stuck in the barrel.

Thanks for the reply. I did try your site, but nothing cast in .228. I have tried to attache a photo of the load data I have as an attachment. The file size may be too small to read. Velocities with Cast bullets are 1500-1800 fps. The jacketed velocities listed are 2400-2800 fps. I never really noticed that before. I already have a few of the powders listed for the cast bullets though; which is why I wanted to adapt those loads to jacketed rounds.....

Sorry, I cannot add the attachment. Perhaps I should just purchase new powder to go with the jacketed load data.
