Anyone using the Area419 powder cup? Personally, I'm not impressed with the glass "shot glass" arrangement that comes with the unit. Fine ball powders seem to cling to it like glue. And yes, I have tried the used dryer sheet wipe-down method of trying to eliminate this problem. But powder always seems to cling to the glass surface. So I was contemplating a new cup that is metal.

Anyone else changed out their cup? What did you end up with?

I designed and 3D printed one, has a cone in the center diverting kernels to the side, not a single kernel jumps outside... Here is the link;

I can print one for you if you don't' have access to a 3D printer, no payment required...https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4675233

Here is my setup, using an RCBS Uniflow with some 3D printed custom fittings to transfer powder through a flexible tube... Works like a charm...

I have noticed (around CGN and youtube) that a lot of guys use what appears to be a piece of granite (or some other stone) counter top.

Curious, what are the advantages of this?
Does it make it easier to level (and keep level) the balance's bubble level ?

The weight will effectively minimize vibrations. They’re usually perfectly flat as well. I plan on a piece of 3/4” stainless steel plate because it’s what I have kicking around.

That is very cool!! I'm not a huge fan of the glass cup. I find that even stick powder will sometimes stick to the inside. I'll be looking to get one of these made.

Hands down one of the best reloading investments. Used the v2 for years and upgraded to the v3 last spring. Love the blue tooth compatible controls. used double sided tape to keep the trickler from walking.

First upgrade arrived today. The Area 419 trickler base. Over a pound of solid billet aluminum.

Now I don’t have to brace that 3D printed plastic base. Now (unbraced) it won’t walk away from its position when it’s running.

More to come next week...

I see you got the RBCS charge master, how does it's accuracy compares to autotrickler? what's the SD of the powder weight?

I double check my charges from my Chargemasters on a lab balance. Typically the chargemaster is within .1gn but it can/will drift without indication. It’s possible to be .3gn out on a calibrated chargemaster.

If only RCBS used a real scale on their chargemaster.

Thanks buddy, I really appreciate you sharing this with us.

I've used a V2 for a few years and it's a great unit. It won't do ball powders though and it absolutely chokes on N570. I've had to go to using Lee scoops and finishing on the auto-trickle because N570 even clogs up my Hornady powder throw. Been mulling over upgrading to the V3 but having trouble justifying it... I just throw ball powders and 8208 on my Hornady thrower since it's all just .223 practice ammo anyways and do short action calibers on my auto-throw/trickler. I've got it setup where I can do 50 rounds of match ammo on the Auto-throw/trickler and 100rds of .223 at the same time, charging 2 cases of .223 for every charge the A&D spits out.
