Hey folks!!! Does someone knows if the Typhoon Defence F12 shotgun is on the prohibited firearm federal list or not...?? Thanks guys, waiting for the response...

I do believe this is one of the guns that got changed from NR - Not an AR, to P-AR Variant.

So the lab approved them as NR and NOT an AR variant, then changed their mind after the OIC dropped.

FRT isn't law, but if the lab says it's an AR variant then guess what? It's an AR variant. The only way to fight it is to get charged and take it up with the court.

The fact it wasn't in the OIC means nothing, because the regulation says:

The firearms of the designs commonly known as the M16, AR-10 and AR-15 rifles and the M4 carbine, and any variants or modified versions of them — other than one referred to in item 47, 49 or 50 of this Part — including...

Including... Means those are examples, not an exhaustive list. If it's considered a variant of one of the above it is prohib regardless of whether it is on the list.

Bill Blair’s May 1st gun ban by Order in Council is an evil gift that keeps on giving long after it’s faded from the headlines. The Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association (CSAAA) learned just how evil when a senior official at Public Safety Canada answered a series of questions about the new gun ban.

In the case of Non-Restricted firearms that were reclassified to Prohibited secretly by the RCMP after May 1st, owners of those firearms are not protected by the amnesty.

The Amnesty only applies to firearms listed in SOR/2020-96.

CSAAA notes:

This means none of the firearms that were updated to prohibited after May 1st in the FRT and any that will be updated in the future are covered by the Amnesty and both sellers and purchasers are not protected from criminal liability. It's really hard to wrap our heads around how illogical this is.

Typhoon F12

I shoot IPSC shotgun competition matches, got myself a Typhoon F12, had it seriously modified by TacOrd to streamline for competition, tinkled with Uzkon mags that take 10 rounds and shot one provincial championship match with it just before May 2020. It shot like a dream at the match.

Now it is just a great looking paperweight sitting in my safe. You think there is a hope I'll be able to shoot any time in the future?
