PAL Wait Time

Got mine in early November...filed paperwork late May. Phoned once and the Officer said they were a bit behind but working on it.

BC resident
Application sent Aug 16th
Cc Charged Dec 14th
Called on Dec 15th to see if they needed any additional info and was told it shouldn’t be long till approved
Application approved and license issued the next day Dec 16th

Waiting for it to come in the mail now.

Does anyone know timeline from issued to physical card in hand? Also am I allowed to call for my PAL# and expiry date so I can start purchasing online?

Normally would be about 1-2 weeks. But if you have your Number, should be able to get some online purchases (if they don’t need the physical card).

Ontario: My app was received mid October and I've been tracking all the dates on my end so hopefully in the next couple months I can post up my dates.

I legit just signed up to say what an absolute disaster this entire process has been. First off, it took me over a month to even get my stamped test results.

Honestly, by now, I've forgotten much of the material in safety course I paid $300 to attend aside from the main safety things like ACTS and PROVE.

Give me a weekend of minimum wage, pay for my flight and I'll go do some paper pushing in Miramichi while these guys sit on their hands all day.

I just wanted to get a hold of some boxing day deals but looks like I'll have to pay out the nose for something I could have saved on if we just had a competent system in place.

Quite literally, it's easier to get a gun illegally while people like us who do things legitimately have to accept subpar government services.

That's the end of my rant, I'll be back in a couple months (Best case scenario at this point) to post my dates. What an absolute joke.

And now they are off on Christmas and New Year’s break ;)

FYI:

Restricted paperwork submitted Aug 18 2020.
Credit Card charged Dec 14 2020
RCMP listed as received on Aug 26 2020
Status Dec 19 is license issued and in the mail in, expect in next two weeks.

How long take for Ontario cfo to approve your pal after cc charged?
I saw people toke only 2 weeks and some people toke 2 years
So confused

from what ive seen, all the timelines posted recently were provinces other than ontario, BC AB MB NS all got approved 2 or 3 days later after cc charge despite restricted or not
i have NOT seen 1 ontario application timeline posted here since covid, so im just guessing either ontario cfo are busy jerking each other off in orillia or no body submitted an ontario app during covid since all courses were closed

Hhhhh
I did my course on march and i got my stamped copy August 17th
We wear more the 25 person in the class
But never seen any one from Ontario post any information about time as well
Just wondering what happen to all those people whose toke the course with me at that day

Update on mine: R/PAL, BC.

Submitted and received Feb 25, 2020. Right before the lockdown. 1 Box ticked for prior uncomplicated depression, submitted with a physician note. Called once a month starting August and the BC Office said the CFO probably wanted to do a phone interview with me.

Just checked today 12/19/2020 and my license is issued. Neither of my references were called that I knew of, and the CFO did not call me either for a phone interview.

Pretty happy! Right before Christmas.

See my other post: when I did my CFSC, the person who ran the course told me it couldn't hurt to include a physician note about the situation which I did. I still waited about 9 months from start to finish, given COVID-19. Late Feb accepting the application in Miramichi to Mid December when I noticed the status changed. They also didn't end up calling.

BC Resident, I did my RPAL course on September 25 and mailed it the same day.
RCMP website says they have no matching data. Should I be worried that they haven't received it? Is it worth calling?

no theres no need calling them now, i almost guarantee you yours will show up online after jan 25th next year according to their current processing speed
plus if you call them now they wont have an idea of its whereabout, you will need the application number found on their website to inquire about your application, so save both yourself and the cfp some time

thats a long ass time to receive your stamped copy, id imagine some of them had received it sooner and already applied before you
or they already got their licenses and see no need to be whining about it on cgn

My Application has been in progress since november 14 2019. I`ve been very patient, I`ve phoned in time to time to find out whats up and how its been going and 4 days ago i login to see my status and it says ( No licence applications were found. Please check again at a later date.) Im guessing they refused my application

Why they will refuse your application
Any specific reason ?

I don’t believe so because Ontario fseso has shut down all safety course the one day after i did my course and they bring it bak August the 5 th

Not gonna lie I did get into a run in with the police back in july of that same year. I stated what happened tho and i was unlucky when i called my cfo i fell twice on the same rude lady i call once then again two weeks later because it had been over a year and i hadnt gotten any phone call or news from them

So, rumour has it that Ontario is going back into lockdown for 14-28 days. Like real lockdowns from March. I can only imagine that that’ll delay any applications in ON.

very few in the gun community come to the boards, so they may not be around to answer that for you.
