having issues with large handgun primers, getting a lot of light strikes 3 in 10 hit but not fire, I assume its a weak hammer spring however is there a primer that is easier to fire, the ones currently are Federal brand
You don't say what gun you are working with. Could there be an excessive headspace issue? Maybe a broken firing pin or crud blocking the transfer bar? Hammer spring would have to be pretty weak to be the only culprit.
In my experience and research, there is nothing easier to ignite than the Federal primers. I have a couple of double rifles that have light firing pin strikes, only Federal primers work 100% reliably. I've read the same applies to revolvers.
Get another hammer spring. They have flat springs, which I believe may still be available or you can make one up. You don't mention which model/make of Bulldog. Sever different manufacturers in different sizes
