My moose hunting bullet is the 200 gr. accubond out of a 300 H& H FN rifle. I am looking for acheaper alternative for target practice only. Looking for a bullet with similar external ballistic characteristics and weight. Ideally, it would shoot to the same POI, but close will suffice. It will be used strictly for punching paper and/or steel plates. It does not have to be a hunting Bullet.

Has anyone done this? What are your suggestions?

Another vote for the Nosler BT. I do all my load development with them, then confirm with a few accubonds with the same recipe. Its. Usually very close. I have found the accubond have a very slightly different profile and I've had to adjust my seating die, all else being the same.

The ones I have in mind are the Hornady 200 gr ELD-X, the 208 gr ELD-MATCH. AND THE 208 gr. HPBT Match. (Or, in the latter two cases, the 195 gr.). I wonder which one would most closely resemble the ballistics of the Accubond.

I'd shoot 200gr ELDx for fun. A friend of mine does this in his 300WSM, hunts with the Accubonds. Point of impact between the two bullets is quite similar inside 300 meters
