Good day..

I am looking for some help on value of a Perazzi MX5C 12g O/U 26" barrels. I have inherited the gun and don't know that much about the gun regarding value. I would say that it is a 7,8 /10. it has chokes and original case. It has been stored properly for the last 15 plus years. The gun is most likely a 90's gun from what I know.
I have shot the gun and it is just to small and light for me.
If anyone has information that would assist it would be a great help.

thanks

The Mx5 was Perazzi's attempt at a lower priced gun built in the 90's, most were field guns I think and the "c" stands for interchangeable chokes. It has the round monoblock which some consider to be inferior to the square monoblock found on the Mx8 series of guns but in reality I don't think it makes much difference. It should also be a pretty plain gun with plain wood and non-detachable trigger group with coil springs instead of leaf springs. Even though this gun was aimed at being lower priced it's still Perazzi quality all the way.
If your assessment of 7 or 8 out of 10 is accurate then I'd probably price it around $4k, the 26 inch barrels detract from the value somewhat since they are less desirable on a target gun but some people still like them on a field gun. You also mentioned that the gun is small for you, if this means the stock has been shortened then that could be a significant factor for potential buyers.

Might be a hard sell at 4000.00. Hard to say. The market for higher quality shotguns isn't what it once was. Here's a link that will give you a little more info.

I know what you mean but I said $4k because most Perazzi's o/u's in good to very good condition seem to bring something in the 3 to 4 k range (at least in my area) but who knows, test the market and see! If it were mine I'd list it at $3900 and go from there.
I sold a very nice Mt6 2 years ago which is a much older model for $3700 with no dickering offered by the purchaser. I also found a really nice Mx5 on a US website yesterday listed at $4700 but I think that is high. I could be out to lunch with my pricing but I didn't just pull a number out of the air either.

I cannot comment as to the current value but I had one for years and it was a sweet field gun and top quality. Too light for a serious competition gun IMHO but a really nice field gun and for fun skeet or sporting clays.

Yes I remember that gun---about 7 lbs and a great upland bird gun. There were a few MX5's that were intended for clay targets and they weighed about 8 lbs
