I know a fellow who has an absolutely mint Belgium made, Browning Safari, 375 H&H, low round count with two boxes of factory ammo. I did not see any corrosion. Great wood, bluing is perfect, all original, gun with rings. What would it be worth?

Between 1k and $2500.... scope or no scope? Great wood or plain wood? The wood is in great shape or has marks on it? Perfect blueing or show some wear? And the most important how much are you willing to pay and is there other people interested?

A one time Browning was drying their wood in salt, bad for the gun. Don’t remember the years. Did you take it out of the stock and look at the underside of the barrel

Quick check for salt wood in these Brownings is to just remove a screw from the buttplate, if rusty give it a pass. A lot of gunshops will not allow removing the barreled action from the stock by a prospective buyer. Early sixties is safe, later on could go either way. An American got the salt brine idea for drying furniture wood using salt brine. Not so good when coupled with steel gun parts.

Excellent idea. Thank you!

If it shows it is salt free, I'd be grabbing that gun asap. What more could a guy want that an iconic rifle in an iconic calibre! And a man cant have too many guns eh! Unfortunately we rarely see many examples high quality old school rifles like the Browning here in NZ.
