Small light weight 22 rifle

you said no youth rifles, but I would consider a savage rascal with a 3d printed stock extension or slip on extension or something. These rifles are super lightweight (2.7 lb or so) and have a decent barrel and tigger.

I’d also look into rigging something onto a rascal. They weigh almost nothing and shoot pretty well. I managed to get sub 4” five shot groups at 100 yards with my sons (with the stock sights) when I was messing around with it.
Check out the mares leg thread for some cool ideas

4 inch on a grouse is a sure miss on any distance.

I'd consider the Cooey 39 once again.

What about a youth XT-22 with a 16.5 in barrel.

That would be great!
I've been looking for one of those and haven't been able to find one. Google brings up several listings but they always show as out of stock. Anybody?
I saw a "survival rifle" stock from NODAK tht looked interesting. No idea if it could be imported.

Tenda is running a sale on Scorpio EM332A for $169. I grabbed two so shipping would be free and a couple of extra metal mags for $21. I handled the rifle before, I must say for a cheapo Chinese rifle, they are well made with good metal finishing and bluing.

The two I own for said purpose are:
13"bbl Norinco with a fixed 4x scope. Takes CZ455 mags. Very compact and made even lighter swapping the scope for irons. Surprisingly accurate and not ammo fussy.
16.25" Henry carbine. Very handy and quick shooter. Accurate but a bit slow to feed without Quick-fill speed tubes.

Well almost made it through the boxing day sales.

Pretty sure these are made on old Anschutz tooling that was sold to China. Crazy accurate rifles!

Mine's a CZ 452 Scout with a CZ 452 Trainer stock. It has a CZ Camp Rifle rear sight, and is waiting on installation of a Williams Firesight front ramp. Nice and light. I've had this rifle for 10 years and while it isn't exactly mint, it's still in good shape but not a beauty queen, so I don't have to worry about minor scuffs and so on. scout.jpg

The Browning Buck Mark Sporter is what you are looking for... really nice little rifle to carry and shoot.

If I want lightweight, I grab my Remington Nylon .
Hard to believe something THAT light is such a tack driver , but it is .
If I’m settling in for a 6+hr gopher session on foot I can’t beat the ease of carrying that rifle in the crook of my arm .
Usually I take the quad my 10/22 and the 20 gauge for max body count in the early summer ....if I don’t the little bastids will take over the place .
For fun and relaxed gopher plinking the nylon is a blast .

What is that full stocked lovely beneath it ?
That’s my idea of a nice looking rifle !

77/22 RSI if I’m not mistaken. I had one for awhile and was underwhelmed, but it was nice to look at. With a bit of work I’m sure it would’ve been fine but I didn’t feel like putting in the effort or funds at the time. Kind of regret that in retrospect.

Ruger 77/22 International, my third... it has proven to be hunting accurate, easily grouse-head accurate to 50m. I have the Leupold VX 2-7X28mm rimfire scope mounted, works well for hunting small game. The rifle is not a bench/target design, but it is an excellent hunting carry and does what it needs to for that purpose.

Hoyt,

Was just looking (drooling) at that Buckmark again and noticed the barrel band. Did they ever ship that way from the factory or did you have that done?
