Leupold releases DeltaPoint Pro Micro

Good day CGN,

Exciting news for pistol shooters - Leupold has released the DeltaPoint Pro Micro.

The DeltaPoint Micro™ is a fully enclosed, low-profile red dot sight designed specifically for concealed carry and personal defense. Until now, there hasn’t been a compact red dot sight suited for pistols with smaller frames and lower sight profiles, but the DeltaPoint Micro changes the game.

Mounted directly to the rear sight dovetail, the DeltaPoint Micro sits at the same height as factory iron sights and aligns the red dot with the front sight, giving you faster target acquisition and improved accuracy. And with eight levels of illumination, you can easily adjust the brightness of your red dot to match current conditions.

Current models fit Glock® and Smith & Wesson® M&P® handguns only. Additional pistol models may be added later.

Canadian MSRP is $649. Expect to see these available later this quarter.

that rear protrusion looks a little jabby..... and the DPP hasn't won any awards for durability. Hopefully Sage Dynamics can review this soon, and other manufacturers (like Trijicon) will follow suit

Not sure how it's going to work with it protruding from the rear like that. I could see some people having issues drawing. But I do like how low it sits.

Such a tiiiiiny little window... Like it's not hard enough already to find your dot on some of the smaller compact red dots. But I guess it'll definitely co-witness, so you can use your front sight as a point of reference? I dunno. Pass.

Looking at the video, the rear sight is replaced with a mounting block. The two Torx screws engage this block. The sight mounts directly to the slide without use of an adapter plate.

But the way you describe it there is still some sort of interface between the sight and the slide, that may jive with the DeltaPoint Pro?

Looking at the video, there is an insert that goes in the dovetail on the slide. This insert matches the notch on the bottom of the sight. The two screws lock the sight to the insert and the slide. Quite different compared with how a DP Pro mounts.
I think that this sight would work nicely on a G48.

Looks like it is mainly designed for handguns without a hammer... I think it will work fine for bulls-eye, may need more training to get used to it for action shooting, etc...

It may work great for shotguns though...

Hard to mount it on a shotgun when it mounts in the rear sight dovetail.

Think of it this way: you can now get a red dot on your pistol that is not milled for one.
