Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

The "high gloss" model may be a 7000.
First, I need to remember that the 4100 is the straight comb stock with a cheekpiece, while the 4000 is the MC model also with a cheekpiece.
The 7000 is the same as the 4000 but with the following added features;

Adjustable trigger, three leaf rear sight, high gloss stock.

All the 4000/4100/7000 have 1" sling swivel loops. If the swivels are 3/4", then, they are European 1600 series (as opposed to the 1640 which have a 600mm barrel).

My Carl Gustaf 1900 is very tricky to load the rounds in the mag. (hinged floor plate)
i have to press VERY lightly on the cases, otherwise they go crooked and wont feed.
( and once they’re in crooked, the only way to fix it is open the floor plate and start again.

are they all like that, or it something that can be improved somehow?
stronger mag spring or something?

Never got a problem with a 1900 magazines. Something must be wrong. Maybe someone fooled with the follower or the spring ?
 
My guess would be a weak spring or a wrong spring.
Inhave owned a 8000 series from new and have a similar issue, never had a problem from 1970 's to in the 2000's and it's never been altered,I will try and add some tension or look for a spring replacement one day.,kelly
 
You can try. Make sure the rear of the follower hangs high compared to the front when the plate is opened. there should be more tension at the base of the cartridge so it feeds ok.
 
7x57 identification

Hello all! A good friend just gave me this Husqvarna 7x57. I have wanted it for some time. After a few good years of bugging him, he finally caved! What I need to know is the model of this rifle? I have seen different models on line that look similar or the same, but have different model numbers? Small ring mauser?.. Also, are Talley ring mounts available this this rifle?

If it helps, I am trying to install Leupold STD bases and rings on my 4100 which seems to be identical to the receiver that you have shown. One attempt was with a Leupold one piece base, which seems to be what you have - it has 116541 written in small letters, on the underside, near the front - apparently Leupold STD-HC 49989 as mentioned above. It fit, using existing factory drilled and tapped holes. I wanted the two piece bases, which do not show up in Leupold listings - "call a leupold technician for help" - had read above (Post #2269) that the ones made for Mauser 96 would fit, so ordered Leupold #51263 base pair. That required an additional 6-48 hole on the rear bridge - the spacing on those M96 rear base holes is about .325" c-c. It worked - top flats of bases are level to each other side to side and the two flat tops are on a plane with each other front to back. However, that rear base has an undercut front edge - to accommodate the charger ledge on a military M96 - so there is a space underneath for about first 1/2" instead of contacting the rear receiver bridge. Still considering to fill that with black dyed epoxy, if the "look" bothers me. There were already two factory drilled and tapped holes on the rear bridge with about .505" c-c spacing, which accepted a Weaver #55 just fine. I hope that gives you cross reference possibilities to find Talley ring mounts that you are looking for.

It seems this rifle had it's stock sanded. The model 4100 have a checkered pistol grip and fore end + 1" sling swivel loops + cheek piece. THe model 1600 Std have a checkered pistol grip and 3/4" sling swivel loops.
None of the "lightweight" / carbine stock was delivered plain.
I suspect your rifle is a 4100, but it was modified over time.
As for the Warne, I do not use them on classic rifles, I prefer the more period time lines of the Buehler or Leupold.
The Warne bases for the 1640/1600 rifles are the # 898 front and # 828 rear.
