Prices go up. It happens, and sometimes quickly. It wasn’t that long ago I was buying an SKS for $150. And that wasn’t used. Surplus yes, but used no. I could buy ammo for it by the crate for under $200 delivered. Savage model 10 package rifles were around $550 - now they want $1300? For their High Country. Heck, it wasn’t more than 2 years ago I was watching Winchester 100’s in 308 go for $450. Now I don’t see them under about $800. Firearms have taken a good sized jump in price recently.
Them there’s the other side of the sale. A lot of rifles are advertised with aftermarket parts, or with scopes included. Many of these parts are in short supply, or even unobtanium with all the fun south of us.
Are some rifles just plain overpriced? You bet! Always have been in the EE. If they weren’t there wouldn’t be so many posts and jokes about it. If you’ve been here since 2011 it shouldn’t surprise you.

I do have some high listed things up right now.... but I also sold six guns since Jan 1st, as well as many knives.
the guns I have up now are more expensive guns, and sure some may be overpriced, but they will drop if there is no interest.
The Swedish mauser I had listed for $1200 admitting that I didn't know what what that particular one was worth... some guys asked me why I was charging well over double its value.... So i amended it and it sold today for a fair price.
Same thing with my 20ga Citori... people that know more said it is worth far less... but my unfamiliarity with over unders, and the estate not knowing exactly what it was I tabbed it as worth close to $1500... I will take a loss on it now... I had an offer of $700... but to me, I would rather keep it and have a nice O/U... Its all personal circumstance.
And Congrats BTW on the reason that you and I didnt make a deal on that supernova...

It's a free market. If the rifle is overpriced to you, then you can search around and find one at the price you want. If you can't find one at the price you want, then it means that perhaps that item is not overpriced.
When I sell an item, I don't sell it to give the seller an amazing deal, I sell it to give myself money.
I am always willing to haggle on items I sell, be it coming down in price, or splitting shipping, etc.
Some of my possessions are worth more to me than others. I price them accordingly. If they sell they sell. If they don't, I drop my price until it comes to a point where the item is worth more to me than what it will sell for.

Consumers decide what they want to spend their money on and which businesses they want to purchase goods and services from. They shop around for the best possible goods at the lowest prices. One of the biggest components of free enterprise is that people are free to choose.

Hell guns are the only thing I’ve bought sold and traded that I haven’t lost my shirt on! I find it doesn’t take too much looking around the internet to see what a fair going rate is for pretty much anything. Some may like it, some won’t ����#
Because you found the cheapest place for them that was out of stock? And not even the same gauge? And the price you tried to tell me it was new was more than what mine was for sale for even before tax and shipping?

I bet you did, with 10x more rounds fired than the one I had for sale. I don't know about you, but if I see a gun for sale in mint condition with a box or less through it I have no problem paying close to retail. Skip tax and probably shipping, plus shave even $25-$50 off a gun that's seen maybe a box, box and a half ? You betcha I'm taking that route.
