I wouldn’t.
Hey @chuck nelson, would you still advise against Varget? If so, why?
I wouldn’t.
None of my barrels liked the RDFs. I brought my Berger 140 Hybrids up to 43.6 grains without any heavy bolt lift, but I had a really good speed node at 42.5, and 41.3 was the most precise.Has anyone tried the Nosler RDF 140 grain with H4350?
I bought some to try. Noslers listed max is 41 grains. I was reading online and some people are going up to 42.5 for some reason.

That’s what the gun wanted. 42.5gr with an .080” jump nets me very consistent 2820fps, and sub half MOA.Thanks for the info. Why did you try up to 42.5? 1.5 over max?
I've put about 4500 RDFs down range with H4350, on all three barrels Ive burnt threw they printed <0.66" ten shot groups including the factory Tikka CTR barrel. The factory barrel i was running 42g and 0.100 jump, even though i could have touched the lands if i needed, the CTR mags are long, the velocity was low around 2680ish. Custom barrels i was running 41.5g and jumping around 0.030ish, with 2750ish FPS.
Only issue Ive had with RDFs is they can be a bit inconsistent from lot to lot, they just need a small tweak on the load to get back shooting small groups, although they are very consistent for BC from lot to lot, I haven't had to deviate from the Litz BC of .324 shooting out to 1100+ yards.
You’d have a difficult time convincing me there’s a better bullet without going to a boutique custom.
I tried the 140 RDF today. Best 3 round group measured .415" from 100 yards. Velocity was respectable at 2630 fps. 40 grains of H4350 was the ideal charge.
I keep going back to the op, but there’s almost no useable information in there.
I believe you’re shooting a Tikka? They’re known to be slow.
