Well the Gremlin finally hit my CZ858 after 1400 rounds. It was sent to Wolverine who had it fixed and back in my hands 2 weeks. They are aware of this issue and the fix is simple and straight forward. The sear connect/disconnect lever that is depressed by the the bolt carrier is too small to be activated reliably. Wolverine replaced it with a big and beefier unit. Excellent service.

im at 600 rds, havent got the gremlin yet.

but i have taken precaution by polishing the ramps under the carrier and always greasing it , this should reduce friction.

this is such a common problem, why cant they just send you the new beefy parts so you can replace it yourself ? sending the whole rifle seams a waste of money.

I agree that they should just put this part in before shipping the 858 out. It is much bigger and stronger than the original part. Not everyone gets the Gremlin so I guess they are saving some money. A local gunsmith took a look and said that he could have easily fabricated the part and installed it but I wanted the warranty work so it wouldn't cost me anything.

what about shipping to wolverine? came out off your pocket or they reinbursed you?

i got this idea that they could make the parts avail .... say at $10 and owners can buy it and install it ourselves , if that didnt work then ship it to them.

It cost me $11 to ship it to Wolverine. They paid for the shipping back. So I didn't quite get away with not having any out of pocket expenses...which was my goal.

you must live in a neighbouring town to wolverine.:D

im about to ship a sling from BC to NF by reg parcel that cost $11.

I think the local gun store I bought the 858 from ate up some of the cost. They charged me $11 and they sent it to Wolverine by express mail (hence the quick turn around time). So I'm not really to upset that I had to shell out a little cash.

I have the gremlin! Glad there is a fix! I have to call wolverine and see if I can't just buy the part. Sending the entire rifle back seems like a PITA to me.

Less the gremlin it is a wonderful rifle I highly recommend to anyone who reads this thread and is second guessing buying one I would also recommend going with the chrome bore. I would buy another.
