East Coast girl here!

Yea no kidding someone who has tried to get in as much as me should show them how bad I want to be there.
But they will not take me...
Strange as usually harder to find females to go in the first place I would think they would jump on having me in there???
When I tried to get in before it was in Nova Scotia maybe I should try again now that I am in a new province...

Worth a shot, Guidelines are pretty much set the same with all the recruiting centers, they're all linked together.

Military is funny for that kinda of stuff.... 7 year reserves, 1 tour, 404's ( Mil License ) and crap load of driver qualification's ( air brakes, army/civi ), but taking sweet ass time for me to go full time ( re summited paperwork back in Aug ) and all I want to do is drive trucks...

yeah its like they want every NCM to go to university ..........sorry I have been disqusted by some of these "higher thinking types" nothing against it but my point is ........you don't need university to be smart and university doesn't make you that way either.

I have been under the impression that the reason most employers want any education is because it proves you can stick with something for a long period of time and that you will stick it out no matter what and see it through and finish something.
Correct me if I am wrong anyone...

Bingo...

I barely passed high school ( I think I had maybe a 52 average ) But doesn't mean I'm stupid. When we got people with 2 - 3 degrees etc, spent 10 - 15 + K in post secondary education and they lack common sense and make so many mistakes and they're too smart for their own good.

Educated types think too hard when the answer is VERY simple.

So anyway where would I go in Ottawa if I want to try again to join?

slater st either 99 or 66 i cant remember which for the life of me LOL.
its right near where elgin and slater meet. i am just down the road from there now so i will have to check it out to-morrow to verify i think LOL

Welcome, I just got a 10/22 for the wife to shoot, now she gone and got pregnant so no shooting for her for the next year or so.

Welcome fellow bluenoser! I started shooting smallbore rifle at the AMA (Atlantic Marksmen Association) in Dartmouth, it was a very good introduction to the world of firearms. Good shooting discipline learned on the .22 lr will stay with you for life imho. ;)

Welcome...
One word of caution though, buying guns will soon become very addictive... I only have nine though:) so I am not an addict, am I;)

10/22 great choice, Butler Creek make some nice 25 round mags as well.

Hey everyone I am new to this site along with new to shooting.
I am from Halifax Nova Scotia but live in Orleans Ontario right now.
Have done some shooting at EOHC and love it.
I am loving the 10/.22 at this point but sure I will be moving up in the world soon...
Happy shooting!!!

As a sailor, you guys are all stealing MY line....so "Welcome Aboard!"

And I find it slightly amusing, you grew up in Hfx, and moved to Ottawa, I'm the opposite.

Not sure what to say about the recruiting standards, however, they are "standards"...so it should be applied in the same way at each recruiting center you end up at.

As for shooting? Well, someday, take a drive towards Shirley's Bay, and make a point of visiting Connaught Ranges, it'll blow you away...shooting from the 900m mound is an experience.

Welcome. I live in Sable River on the South Shore. I don't shoot .22s very much any more, but my late wife (I'm an old person) liked our little Armalite Model 7 very much, and was very good with it. You're right not to push yourself. When you feel ready to try heavier calibers, and not before, that's the time to do it. Enjoy.

NavyShooter

I am one of her roomates and would be more thenwilling to bring her out that way as I would lie to come out to Connaught as well some time. Just need an invite.
