I’m considering a Sig Cross in 308 for a general purpose hunting and range precision shooting rifle. I like the weight and compact size and reasonable price. Is there something else I should consider as well?

Christensen arms Modern Precision Rifle.
The steel version would be closest to the sig in price and function, but there’s also the carbon fibre version that is a work of art.

Unless you’re going for the new .277 fury or whatever sig developed I’d say you’re way better off with the MPR and you can buy it today.. from 16-26” barrels.

Mine is in .308 with a 16” carbon barrel and it’s a beautifully crafted gun!!

That looks interesting I had a quick look but I could not find anyone with stock. Any pointers?

Thanks but no one has a 16” 308. Not surprising.

16” 308 is a tougher find but I’m confident there’s one available somewhere in Canada right now no doubt... I believe Great North Precision in Kelowna B.C. had one recently not sure if they still do..
If you can find one, I’d highly recommend it.. workmanship is flawless fit and finish, I’m not sure about factory but clover leafs with hand load is quite easy.

*unfortunately it seems like one one at great north has sold*
Can’t really say I’m surprised but was hopeful.

I’d like to see a Cross in person. Could very well be one of those buy on the spot situations. Could make a dandy little rifle given that it folds and feels light.
