I am working on a deal for T1X today. So, am looking for a picatinny rail. Any suggestions what brand and dealer. Appreciate the help. What brand ammo is shooting best in this rifle from you owners? Thx.

Kinney's shooting supply out of the US has the DIP rail, thats where I got mine. I was an early adopter so there may be more options in Canada now.

Appreciate all the help, guys. I just found a set of rings in my kit that might fit. If not, I know were to get a rail. Thx.

After shooting bulk HV ammo even with a decent rifle like the T1X, when someone shoots match ammo for the first time he will say something like "Wow, what a difference." Bulk ammo, especially HV bulk ammo, is a perennial candidate for poor accuracy.

When it comes to match ammo, it's not the brand that makes the difference. It's not that Brand A will shoot better than Brand B in a particular rifle. It's the lot or batch of a brand of ammo that makes the difference. Any of the major brands of good quality ammo -- Eley, Lapua/SK, and RWS -- will have lots that shoot well.

That being said I use mostly high velocity HP ammo for hunting in mine and it shoots exceptionally well with copper plated hollow points from a couple different manufacturers. Thumbnail sized groups out to 50 yards makes for a pile of gophers on a calm & sunny summer afternoon.

I'm used to trial sorting thru different ammo for the other rifles I shoot, which I shoot in benchrest. I don't hunt, just punch holes in paper. I was just thinking there might be a common denominator to start from. I usually shoot Lapua and SK, Eley, etc. depending upon the rifle. Half the fun is seeing what works. And makes for good practice.

Btw, does anyone know who sells Tikka mags with smaller mag bases? Dip makes a base plate, but do not ship here.

If you have access to a 3D printer I uploaded a file to Thingiverse. You don't have to modify your mag like the DIP version but note you go from 10 rounds to 8.
FYI I do not make them to sell but put the file up for others to use (but not sell as per the Creative Commons - Non Commercial license ).
