I think that being bought by a firearms company can only be good for Holland and Holland.
Their main profit centre, under Chanel ownership, seemed to be upscale country clothing.

We are living in interesting times, where traditional business is under great stress.

Holland & Holland is one of the foremost brands in British gun-making, serving elite international clients with the world’s finest handmade shotguns and rifles.
Beretta Holding has been looking to acquire a premium luxury brand, and Holland and Holland is a fitting partner, fulfilling all the elements of finest gun making; a rich history, independent manufacturing facilities and outstanding products.
Beretta Holding wishes to preserve the precious heritage of Holland & Holland in the United Kingdom with a high dedication to skilled craftmanship.
Pietro Gussalli Beretta, President and CEO of Beretta Holding has declared: “This is a truly exciting development and a great achievement for the Beretta family, further increasing the Group’s international footprint. Faced with the Brexit challenges, I am very pleased to increase our direct presence in the important UK market, where we are already active with our well-established distribution subsidiary.”
Included in the deal is the prestigious Holland & Holland Shooting Ground, located in West London, which boasts some of the finest facilities in the UK.
Beretta Holding is committed to the shooting sports sector and has a proud history of investing in brands that come under its umbrella and will continue to do so with its newest acquisition, Holland & Holland, to the benefit of this famous gunmaker.

If this makes my Beretta into a Holland and Holland, I'm all in favour. OK, I'm dreaming, but it would be nice to see more of H&H's shotguns. Except if we do, they will undoubtedly be factory made. Oh well.

I always admired H&H's from a far, as they are way over my head in price. Love the 375 & 300 cartridges. But when it's all said & done I'd take a John Rigby bolt gun over the H&H. Glad to hear Beretta took em over and not Norinco! LOL!

Chrysler owned Lamborghini for a time... It got worse from there.

Remember Chrysler and Daimler-Benz, I don't think that ended up improving either brand.

When one business buys another, the bought company, sooner or later, has decisions imposed on it that are not in keeping with the bought companies philosophy. And they almost always are not viewed positively.

Beretta buying H&H is like Chevy buying Ferrari. Cheapens the brand.

Chrysler owned Lamborghini for a time... It got worse from there.

Beretta is way, way, way above Chevrolet on the quality of make scale, and almost every company on earth is ahead of Chrysler. Also, I can easily see Beretta having the sense to just leave H&H alone, I would be slightly worried about them producing a factory gun under the H&H name, but only if I already owned an H&H - but actually double gun fanciers would be smart enough to differentiate the two lines should that happen.
