if its archery only for deer then you do not have to wear orange. during the controlled hunt i always wear orange even if im only out for squirrels. whether its the law or not i couldnt tell ya....
Sure you can hunt with any legal tool you want but the archery season is closed for the gun season and the blackpowder season so the archery rules for camo dont apply.
Probably a good idea to wear it in any season. I would rather have a deer see me and take off then have some dumbass not know what I was and put an arrow thru me. I'm hardly an expert on deer hunting, but the one thing I've noticed is deer are pretty much blind. You could go out dressed as a clown and as long as you don't move they won't see you. Of the whole two deer I have shot. They have both been under 20 yards, and each one of them stopped, looked straight at me (covered in blaze orange) and then carried on as if I wasn't there.
Actually, I believe you'll find you can use a bow for deer hunting in any open season including rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader seasons. However, the rule is that Hunter Orange (Blaze) must be worn during any gun season which includes, by definition, muzzleloaders. Accordingly, although you can bow hunt during the gun season and the muzzleloader season, you must wear blaze orange to do so.
