New in box parker hale 1200c

I was the lucky purchaser of a ParkerHale 1200c in 3006 new in box from a member on this forum. Even it has never been fired I think I will... The serial number dates it to 1966, it has a plain stock but it is new so I was thinking of replacing the stock to save the original. Does anyone know if any 98 mauser sporter stock would fit or does it have to be a parkerhale specific because of the detachable mag?
 
I would just shoot it and enjoy it as it is. Even if it gets a few dings, so what. Life is too short to worry about maximizing every investment. There will always be a buyer for an excellent condition Parker Hale.

I agree. You’ll enjoy it more as it is original
 
I dropped mine into a hogue k98 sporter stock. I think all that was required was to shorten the spacer for the trigger guard screw.

If it is the ad I saw, I responded to it quite quickly but I was too late. It was a very good price. However that particular ad had no photos and the gun was listed as unfired, in the box. It was either $400.00 or $450.00, can't remember. There was another listed a day or so later, used, at I think $350.00 and it showed a photo.
