10 gauge smokeless shortshell

I load the short 10's for my vintage English doubles, here are two recipes I use.
Fed Premier or Winchester SuperSteel Magnum, 3 1/2" cut to 2 7/8" or 2 5/8" as required
1 1/4 oz shot
Win 209 primers
Remington SP 10 wad
35/ SR 4756
Or
Winchester Super Steel Magnum 3 1/2" cut to 2 7/8"
1 1/4 oz shot
Win 209 primer
Remington SP 10 wad
32/SR 7625
Both of these loads roll crimped.
These wads are available but hard to find. Both of these powders have been discontinued so may take some searching.
I use the same loads for 2 5/8" with the wad trimmed.
Also you can use 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 drams of FFG black powder and stacked fibre/felt/ cork wads. More smoke =more fun.

2-7/8 Roll Crimp data from Ballistics Products Advantages Manual 10th

7/8 ounce lead, Federal hulls & 209A primers w/ gas seals & filler wads
Hodgdon Titewad Powder
22 gr, 1300 FPS, 8900 psi
26 gr, 1430 FPS, 10400 psi

They also have some limited 1 ounce, 1-1/4 ounce, & 1-3/8 ounce loads with some other powders.

Dan belisle, save your super expensive 10 gauge brass cases for black powder loads, they will last indefinitely if you clean the internals soon after shooting them and at $10-12 each that's important. Black powder causes pinhole burn throughs in plastic cases and causes the plastic to become hard to open for reuse so I use usually use available cut down plastic 3 1/2" or even old stock once fired paper hulls, work great for smokeless loads,

So true. Many do cut down Federal or Chedite hulls specifically for thier smokeless ten gauge hulls.
And as Ashcroft days here, keep the brass just for BP only. It's kind of primitive but when I load the black powder shells with BP I measure the wad seating pressure I use a bathroom scale and a six inch extension of 3/8 for ratchet wrench. Target of 30 pounds seems to work okay for me on these BP shells.
The white cardboard very top over shotcard I mark with black sharpie the shotload. Compression works to keep the card below the length of the brass hull.
Clear silicone from a grease gun for sealing edges at home is perfect for tough waterproof seal and the clear allows you to read your payload that you just marked on top. Perhaps this is old news to many here?
