Moving to the US - what would you get for a concealed carry gun?

Probably try a few before I decided but I’d lean toward the G43 because I love shooting the G48 .
There are soooo many decent choices in the USA though so I might find something I liked better .

I thought the whole idea with the Shied Arms mags is that they aren't single stack?

They do stagger the rounds but are able to maintain the same foot print of the original Glock 48 mag without increasing the length. Its pretty amazing that they are able to increase the capacity by 50 percent. Sorry I was getting carried away we live in Canada.

Hi folks - newbie here. I'm curious to get your thoughts on this. I'm currently in the process of getting my VISA to move to the US of A from Ontario. The great state of Indiana to be more specific. Once there I'll be able to get a permit for concealed carry. If you were in my shoes, what would you buy once you got there? I'm interested in the Sig P365. It looks like a great carry gun.

So how long do you have to be down there and what paper work is required for you to even possess any firearm or ammunition...?

My understanding is that if you're a legal resident, in my case, a "lawful permanent resident" VISA holder, you're fine to own and purchase firearms in the US.

Summary of Indiana Gun Laws
Indiana is a shall-issue state with permits being issued by the Indiana State Police.

There is no permit required to purchase a firearm, and firearms do not need to be registered. Only Indiana residents or residents of neighboring states who are at least 18 years old can buy long guns. To buy a handgun, you must be at least 21 years old and a resident of Indiana.

Open carry and concealed carry are legal in Indiana for residents with an Indiana License to Carry a Handgun (LCH) and for non-residents with any valid state license to carry. The Indiana LCH is valid for open, concealed and locked-case carry. The minimum age is 18 years old, and there is no requirement for firearms training. Applicants must be Indiana residents or have a regular place of business or employment in Indiana. Some areas are off-limits, including school property, school buses and riverboat casinos. In terms of reciprocity, Indiana honors permits from all states and jurisdictions.

Self-Defense
Indiana is a Castle Doctrine state and has a “stand your ground” law. There is no duty to retreat if deadly force is necessary to prevent serious bodily injury to the person or a third person or the commission of a forcible felony.

It seems you are quite eager... maybe overly so... I hope you know what your are doing and don't test the "stand your ground" law.

You're right, I am pretty eager... but not specifically to carry a concealed firearm. I'm eager to enjoy the firearm freedom the US has to offer. It's like a breath of fresh air compared to the restrictions we have here in Canada.
I honestly don't anticipate carrying that much. I just like the fact that I'll have the freedom to do it. (Hopefully the Dem's don't ruin that.)
I will definitely be taking some education and training on concealed carry when I get the opportunity.

OP,
Do NOT renounce your CDN citizenship.

Indiana is as BLUE as BLUE can be.

Blue being of Unconstitutional, spineless, socialist,Democratic Party, brain dead idiots.

You would be better off entering the Southern Borders to gain access into the USA,than the Northern Border.
