New or used? 9.3x62

I'm a little short on suitable spare scopes right now but I do have a 3-12x56 Swarovski Habicht (to heavy) and a VX5HD CDS-ZL2 3-15x44 (to much mag)sitting idle, that I can use for load development before the red dot goes on...:)

I have two of the older Habicht scopes. One is on the hefty side and helps on a heavy recoiler's mediation.

Under 100 yards the red dot will work just fine... "but" the 9.3X62 is a cartridge capable of much more than just being a short range thumper... I would, at least consider a bright low power scope... my African 9.3X62 wears a VX-3 1.5-5X20mm with German #4 reticle... I am comfortable with this set up out to 300 yards... and it is still great at 20 yards. Just a thought.

I'm right there with you Hoyt - but its a Ruger African 375 Ruger with the Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20mm. Its only met a whitetail so far, but I hope to introduce it to an elk next year.

That is just right for just about anything just about anywhere.

I mocked up the Strikefire on a multi-slot rail in a 30mm low Warne ring and the rifle (Sauer100) set up this way should weigh in at 7lb 8.4 oz. ...close to the same as it would with a Leupold 1.5-5x20 vx3i

Just picked up the Sauer from the post office...cleaning the barrel seems to be lots of copper fouling, I've ran a dozen wipeout patches and still coming out blue (wonder how many test rounds where fired at the factory?)

Rifle with Strikefire red/green dot all mounted is 7ibs 7.9 oz...the LGS here does have a Leupold 1.5-5x20 sitting in stock, tempting.

Brass bullets and dies should be here by the end of the week....the excitement builds :)

I am following this, never handled a Sauer, the double stack magazine looks interesting.

Mine had a lot of copper in the bore too. I guess they are all test fired to see it they make the 1 moa guarantee.
