I know this is a long shot, but I hope there’s someone here that knows more about Turkish shotguns than me.
I like the generic Turkish pump action design. I say design, because the execution of that design varies a lot, going from pot metal (you know who they are) to very good (weatherby imports). Regardless of build quality, it is a very good design and I’m trying to figure out it’s history. Unlike American and European actions, the history of that design is murky.
The first one I’m aware of is the Weatherby PA-08. Right now the Canuck/derya imports are probably the most popular example here. There is also the Sinsinati/Asena, Churchill/akkar, and others.
I have handled many of these and I’m looking for the original gun. Was the Weatherby the first, that was then copied by the Turks? Or was it invented by a Turkish inventor before?
