Anyone know much about these? I can't seem to find much online. Were they only made in 2013? Did they sell poorly due to a Shadow 2 being less expensive? Or similarly priced?

I got the Standard version as opposed to the SPO1 style. I prefer the combat configuration personally. But have owned a Sjadow 1 a Shadow 2 an SPO1 Tactical a Pre B and a New Edition Stainless. They are an excellent platform.

I'm very excited to get and try it!

I’ve got the SP01 style and it’s one of my favourite pistols, I shoot it better than my Shadow 2 but that just may be more rounds down the pipe. Can’t go wrong with CZ imho.

My understanding is the shadowline has all the features of an sp01 shadow, but with the form factor of a regular cz75 (short dust cover, no rail, tapered slide). Hard to go wrong with any of them to be honest!

You are correct - I have one in CZ75/85 form. I say "/85" because it has an ambi Safety like a CZ85, but not an ambi Slide Stop like a CZ75. So somewhere in between the two. I put the Israeli Mepro Red-Dot with Iron Night Sights system on mine, which is pretty cool insofar as having a QD Red-Dot with back-up Iron Night Sights is concerned. The Nickel-plated Trigger and the Competition Hammer are usually the give-aways as to a CZ75's Shadowline status.

I think there is more to it than that as there is an SPO1 Shadowline... I could be wrong however!

That's pretty damn sweet!!

I had an opportunity to shoot one a CZ rep had about a year before they were announced. It was designed in part to satisfy IDPA SSP rules that existed at that time. The rules changed the year the gun hit the market. IDPA changed the weight limit and the rules covering the dustcover. I bought one because they come with a sweet trigger and the ugly rail. The gun just looks sweeter than the SP-01 Shadowline.

Personally I think it is my favourite hammer fired pistol that I own. I have an 85Combat that the late Ken Soucie did a trigger job on the gun. It has the nicest trigger of any CZ's I own. The 75 Shadowline version is ever so slightly heavier. Either pistol would be hanging around long after most of the others are sold off.

To the OP you got a very nice pistol. Your grand children will end up shooting it after you have gone.

Ah!! That makes sense. Although, I figured it was a no brainer for CZ to turn one of their regular models into a race horse as I completely agree with you on the looks, the full length dust cover is fugly. I've owned two SPO1 styles and a shadow 2. I just prefer the regular versions.

I am truly excited about this purchase. I shouldn't have as money is tight. But I want one pistol in cas SHTF and dont want a polymer frame for that... I just feel UV and life will eventually kill a polymer gun. As opposed to a metal frame pistol.

I tried the P226, nope, Beretta, nope... I had to try them, but they pale in comparison to the CZ in my opinion.

I had one (not SP01 version) for a number of years. Really liked it, great shooter. Much better than the 75B I owned before it. I recently sold it to get something I thought I would like more...I may regret it. Time will tell.

I have both the regular version and the SP-01. It’s my understanding that they are just upgraded versions for IPSC, and when they were introduced they were only about $100 more than a regular SP-01 Shadow. Then there was a pretty dramatic price increase, and a couple years later the Shadow 2 was introduced and CZ discontinued the Shadowlines because they priced the Shadow 2 at about the same price or cheaper. Gradually the supply of new guns has dried up over the years as retailers have been sitting on them since nobody wants to buy them for more than what a Shadow 2 is going for. And FYI there is a “regular” CZ 75 Shadow similar to the regular SP-01 Shadow, of which the non-SP-01 Shadowline is an upgraded version of, but I’ve never seen any in Canada. CZ-USA has them on their website under the discontinued section.

I regret selling my ol New Edition Stainless... miss that one the most. Hoping this Shadowline will fill the void.

Trying to read about shadows and shadowlines and SP01s gets rather confusing at times :)

Yeah, even used they hold some value. There was an Shadow SP01 for sale yesterday for $750 shipped. 300rds fired and 4 mags with holster and mag holders on a belt.

I paid the same for the Shadowline with 3000 rounds through it or more, I just dont like that dang FLDC. I'm very stoked to get it.

I have the SP01 version, stock internals and shoots great. The only upgrade I did was the Red Dot, a Sig Romeo 1 with mount for CZ 75. I just can't remember if the guide rod is steel or plastic/polymer as I might have swapped it at one point. Canuck44 is one of our CZ Gurus here. Any question about our CZ, he is our go-to-guy!

Regular Shadow has a plastic guide rod, Shadowline has a steel one.
