Well I screwed up.

Trying to put Hi Visibility sights on my BLR for my old eyes, and I dropped one of the screws. Stoopid. Can't find it, went over the whole area with a magnet. Sigh.

I am north of Edmonton and will have to depend on the internet or mail order for this. A quick web search reveals it's a $5 screw that is discontinued, that not many have in stock, and those that do don't ship to Canada. I can't figure out what the part number for the replacement is?

Any advice on the easiest way to get this?

That's disgusting. Don't buy from them. If they can't put a dinky worthless screw in a padded envelope for free, to help somebody out, they won't ever get my business. Try calling around some local fastener suppliers first. You would be surprised what you can find.

I think Reliable Gun has some Browning parts too. Maybe contact them or Browning directly in Quebec. They helped me out before. $45,- for a screw is beyond good taste...

What is the thread on the screw? Is it metric (which may be the case if built by Miroku)?

It may sound silly but amazon has assortments of small metric screws and you may find one that fits. I've bought metric plug screws of there to plug the rear sight screw holes on a couple rifles.

Good advice, thanks.

Call: R. A Glover in Hamilton.

I had a similar experience...

I was looking for an oddball size: M3x0.5x8mm
...and they had them! I bought like 30 of them for less than $10 !

See below for metric sizes...

Afterwards, I bought some quality scope ring screws to replace the Swiss cheese factory screws.

Thanks for that. But I don't know the thread yet

They just responded and have 2 left

$45 shipped..... wow. Wish I had another option.

Drive there and pick it up. Have someone in Edmonton drive there and mail it to you... it's pretty well a minimum charge when they have to ship in a parcel large enough to insure...

They need to send parts with proof of delivery, otherwise on occasion the parts don't show up and WGP is out of pocket... they are a business and it's strictly a business thing.

I didn't like it when I was buying parts so I tried to order enough parts to help defray the cost...
