Out of your comfort zone meat eating experience

Yeah panfried in butter those Candle Fish do have an aroma.
Smoked they are spectacular, leave the gutz and head in/on them brine and smoked and yum yum.
The Natives and early settlers would use them as candles and the rendered fish (grease) used as a spread or for cooking.
Check the history on those lil fishies and the fighting over them.

A.Mackenzie in some circles is claimed to have discovered it, but in fact it has been know previously by 6000 years or so.
My no go is liver no matter how its cooked or how much butter and funions are added to it.

I've heard that pigeon is like chicken but since they carry so many desease it's a hard pass for me.

Pigeon is nothing like chicken. There is a slight difference between pigeon and mourning dove. Excellent table fare.....not the city pigeons but barn pigeons....most of which are grain fed.

I've eaten Rattlesnake at the Cowboy bar and Grill in Sedona, it was great.

I've also had, Alligator, Seal, Bear, Porpoise, Octopus, Cod tongues, Mur, Squid ... all very good.

But my favourite will always be venison and shell fish.

Your variety:) far surpasses what I've sampled. However, favourites for me are early season Moose, Ruff Grouse and prawns.
 
When I lived in Indonesia for a couple years, I’d regularly eat Cobra when visiting Jakarta. Tasted kind of like chicken calamari. Also had python, and crocodile there but I always passed on the monkey and bat (now it seems like it was a smart decision).

Now that I’m back in Canada the “weirdest” thing would have to be Lynx. The fried nuggets tasted a lot like short ribs but not something I’d actively search out.

When Moose is good, it's great.

But I have tried moose that was so tough, it was like chewing on leather.
Then I've had moose that didn't taste any different than an average beef steak,
and I've even had moose that wasn't fit for a dog to eat.

But I've yet to eat bad Mule deer or White tail.

I've had somewhat similar table fare experience with Deer at that time of the season when their focus is on a** not grass. Or, if they've been chased hard. As with some taken during the rut, they turn into grade A dog food, much like Moose during similar circumstances.

Pigeon or dove is fine table fare and whoever took the time to prepare those birds, the way they have been done, kudoos! That is a lot of work for truely dedicated bites.
 
Had Alligator twice, First time was pretty good, second time was the last.. lol
Had Sea urchin once... NEVER again!
Goat testicles, not too bad but why bother.
 
Barnacle and seaweed stew, beach beer can boiled in seawater with a main course of fire roasted sea star on a stick with sand for spices.
 
My buddy is a trapper and a really good cook. He has fed me roast beaver, fried Manitoba grey squirrel, lynx and it was all delicious.

On thing I cannot get past is snipe or woodcock cooked with the guts in and smeared on toast. No thanks.

Beef and elk tongue. Might as well eat sandpaper. Yuk

Psssst...you're suppose to parboil and remove the skin before BBQ or frying.

Balut (duckling cooked inside egg before it hatches)

Milt (cod sperm)

Fried perch eggs
Pigeon
Seal
Squirrel
Frog legs
Gator
 
I can eat a lot of different foods. A Chinese soup had something like balut, but the chicken embryo had a developed head (beak, eyes etc.) and tiny feathers all over its body. It was still shaped like it was in the egg, no thanks.
