Hoping someone can help me. I have a barrel with the gas block stuck on with red loctite.

The set screws are out but it appears the red loctite had seaped between the barrel and gas block.

Tried a heat gun at 1350 for 5 mins and it won't budge.

Any ideas how to get it off without damaging the barrel? Am I best to bring this in to a gunsmith with a press?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

its basically CA glue. you could try submerging it is acetone or CA glue remover from the hobby shop. agitate and warm the part somewhat frequently.

Propane torch gently applied. It may be that there is just a lot of the Loctite.

Thank you!!! The propane torch worked, I managed to wiggle it off with a pipe wrench after heating it up....the block is all scratched up, it was a brand new BCM......think I can reuse it or should I purchase a new one in case I damaged something? Or is that not necessary?

There's really nothing to damage as long as you didn't squeeze it hard enough to distort it out of round. Just soak it good in a solvent as suggested in post #2 to clean out all the Loctite. If it is mechanically sound just buff down the scratches with some medium-fine grit emery cloth. Then finish with any of the standard bake on finishes and it will look as good a new. In fact auto manifold paint will probably work just about as well for less money.
