Favourite Waterfowl Shotgun

Know a few who are using the Winchester Super-X Model 4 and are very happy with it.They really like the larger trigger guard,bolt handle and slimmer pistol grip for goose/duck hunting ,in cold weather.So far I have not talked to any one ,who has used one in the field,who was not happy with it.Perhaps Randy is getting a little nit pickey.:)

Have hefted one and for the life of me I cannot see any difference in how the SX4 comes to my shoulder or swings over my SX3.Been thinking of getting a SX4 for myself.Would go with the wood stock,same as on my SX3,as I prefer wood on my guns.:)

Currently, my favourite waterfowl shotguns are my SBEII and my SP-10.

Other waterfowl guns have been my M-12, M12 in 20 gauge, Beretta 302, and an 11-87. All of them have been excellent reliable shotguns.
 
Gotta stick with my 70's-90's era Wingmasters, 1100's and 11-87's. They fit me perfectly and all have the same feel. Love the finish and look of the wooden-stocked models.
 
I would love an 1100 with a Rem Choke barrel or a fixed choke that patterned steel loads well. They’re beauties imho

You’re right rem870 they all feel and fit similar to the 870. My versamax does too. So similar that I sometimes pump

Geez, I just sold my Fabarm XLR5 12 gauge three weeks ago. It was the only shotgun that I ever owned with screw-in chokes. It was a great gun, I'll miss it a lot. A Beretta A400 Upland KO will be nice to own for both waterfowl and upland.
 
Suhl has thier brand new SL5 inertia semi auto out now. Was built with the help of Italian engineers. Some neat unload/load features, rib can accept a red dot, matted finish and beautiful wundhammer swell walnut stocks complete with cut checkering.
Looks damn nice to me !

Synthetic stock was long ago swapped out for an early walnut police stock for a nice upgrade. Theses SPs were some of the very early 870s with a matte finish, but had much nicer finish than the Express. In the end, the Express took the sales and the SP was discontinued.

I bought it new when they were discontinued and still own it.

very clever to put those stocks on an hunting shotgun. so yours is closer to a wingmaster in the inside?
 
Browning Gold 20g nice gun ,and deadly shooting those Kent 2.0 ,also have a Browning Cynergy wicked wing ,for geese .Nice shooter
 
I bought a Win. Super X M-1 in 1974 when they first came out and it is still going strong. It has a 28" mod barrel, I had thin wall choke tubes installed. This gun just works and has never gave me any issues, it has had thousands upon thousands of rounds through it. I used it for trap for many years as well as duck, goose, and pheasant. Have never seen any reason to replace it with the newer SX-3 or 4.
 
A Browning BPS 12 ga. Keeps the hulls ejecting downwards in a boat & not rapping a buddy in the head in a blind. I can miss just as well with this gun as any other... An Ithaca would do as well with good screw in chokes.
 
I am very glad to hear of all the love for the Winchester Semi’s. I have not fired one yet, but would like to try one. Will wait and see what spring/summer brings.

Have not heard one word about the SXP. Anyone using it for a bird gun?
 
I shoot an a400 extreme. Gun fits me well and is as reliable as the sun. However, I have for years watched an SX3 perform absolutely flawlessy in wind, snow, sleet, dust, and rain. Don't think my Beretta is worth double the price. I just don't.
